What is the course about:
This 4-day module is designed to cover the multi-modal nature of low back pains, its management and how to prescribe and deliver exercise programmes for this client group.

Who is the course suitable for:
Level 3 advanced instructors and individuals who are working as personal trainers and wishing to train to become a level 4 specialist instructor
What qualifications are needed:
- registration as a full level 3 Advanced Instructor. One additional context at level 3 i.e. older adult, personal training, disabled persons, ante/post natal or exercise referral
- by certification you must also be able to show 1,200 hours of appropriate professional experience (1 year) at level 3.
- you will also need to complete the REPs Professional Practice Unit on their website

- Co-morbidities and Contra-indications to exercise
- Exercise referral
- Functional anatomy and biomechanics of the spine and lower back pain
- static and dynamic posture
- integrated resistance exercises
- multi-plane movement patterns
- medication, psychological and sociological factors
- common postural and kinetic chain dysfunctions
- corrective exercise protocols
- appropriate training approaches

Case study development of an exercise programme and observed assessment of a teaching session
