  • Expand your anatomical knowledge to include the shoulder, hip, knee and ankle complex, the deep stabilising core muscles and the superficial mobilising core muscles
  • Expand and develop your exercise library with practical exercises that are multi plane and functional
  • Understand the kinetic chain and kinetic chain dysfunctions
  • Use PNF stretch techniques to include nerve and muscle stretching

What qualificiations are needed?

  • Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing

  • Deep and superficial muscle anatomy
  • Compound vs isolation exercises
  • Multi plane and open and closed chain exercises
  • Contraindicated Movements
  • The Muscular System and Muscle Physiology
  • Biomechanical Principals
  • Movement Analysis – Applied Kinesiology

How is it assessed?

  • Assessment by technical observation throughout the course and level 3 Exercise and Fitness Knowledge exam optional

  • Pre-reading on anatomy is useful. All course materials will be provided.
