INTRODUCTION

A great way to broaden your range of classes! Gain a nationally recognised qualification in teaching group indoor cycling from a leading health and fitness specific awarding body - CYQ.

WHAT IS THE COURSE ABOUT?

This course is designed as a conversion course for those instructors who have taken a group indoor cycling course which is not nationally certificated; eg, RPM® spinning instructors who are teaching group indoor cycling without a formal qualification.

1 day.

WHO IS THE COURSE SUITABLE FOR?

Individuals aged 18+ (delegates who are 16+ are eligible for certification but CYQ strongly recommends delegates are 18+) who are already instructing, who wish to improve their knowledge and skills to enable them to deliver group indoor cycling sessions and for those who are already running such sessions without a formal qualification.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE NEEDED?

A Level 2 certificate in fitness instructing or equivalent.

  • How to plan, teach and evaluate a safe and effective group indoor cycling session
  • Appropriate health and safety considerations
  • Cycling approaches and techniques
  • How to set up a class
  • Effective use of music
  • Assessment criteria

HOW IS IT ASSESSED?

Internal assessed lesson plans, practical observation and evaluation.

ARE THERE ANY BOOKS OR SPECIAL EQUIPMENT THAT THE STUDENT NEEDS TO PURCHASE?

All course materials will be provided.

WHAT CAN THE QUALIFICATION LEAD TO?

An ability to teach group indoor cycling sessions with improved knowledge and skills and/or with a formal qualification.
